Pittsburgh Steelers 7-round Mock Draft: Mike Tomlin gets another gem at cornerback

Steelers add more cornerback depth in late rounds
The Steelers address the cornerback position for the second time in the 2024 NFL Draft after taking Kool-Aid McKinstry with their first pick. Pittsburgh will likely add several players at this spot as they need to add depth at this position as well as adding a day-one starter. The team could lose Levi Wallace, Chandon Sullivan, James Pierre, and Elijah Riley in free agency which would leave this cupboard bare at this spot.
A player who should be able to see playing time early in his career is TCU’s Josh Newton. Newton is a physical corner who has had great production over the past two seasons having broken up 21 passes. He also has plenty of experience having started 58 games during his college career.
A position that is wide open in Pittsburgh is punter after the team released Pressley Harvin. The team currently doesn’t have a single punter on their roster and they may wait until the 2024 NFL Draft to address this position.
Vanderbilt's Matthew Hayball averaged an impressive 47.6 yards per punt last season and also placed 42 percent of his punts inside the 20-yard line. This allowed him to be named to the All-SEC team and earn the second-highest punting grade in the nation according to Pro Football Focus.
