No.3: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

2023 NFL Stats: 17 games | 66.5 pct | 4,306 pass yards | 29 pass TDs | 18 INT

Wild Card Round vs Pittsburgh Steelers: 70.0 pct | 203 pass yards | 3 TDs | 0 INT

Josh Allen comes in No. 2 here because of what he’s capable of and what he showed in the Bills’ 31-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round.  He did it with his arm, he did it with his feet, Allen turned it on in the playoffs making the Bills a very dangerous team.

Like Jackson, Allen is a man on a mission and a quarterback looking to finally score one against Patrick Mahomes and a Kansas City Chiefs’ defense who know just how tough the 27-year-old quarterback is to defend.  Chiefs’ defensive tackle Chris Jones talked about just how tough a challenge Allen is as his team prepares for the big AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Bills.

“He’s a warrior,” Jones told reporters, via ChiefsWire. “You look at the plays he made last time we played them; he was going out of bounds and ended up throwing a 40-yarder running out of bounds off his back leg, He’s tough to bring down, a couple of times we had him wrapped up, and he still got rid of the ball. His competitiveness within his game, he can make any throw. He has a big arm.”

That is the dangerous aspect of Allen.  Just when a defense thinks they have him contained he does find a way to make a big play.  Although he hasn’t come up on the winning side against the Chiefs the last two playoff matchups, he has made the plays to put his team in position to win those games.  Is Josh Allen due?  He is certainly out to prove it and make a statement in these playoffs.
