No. 6: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
2023 NFL Stats: 17 games | 67.3 pct | 4,575 pass yards | 30 TDs | 12 INT
Wild Card Round vs Los Angeles Rams: 81.5 pct | 277 pass yards | 1 TDs | 0 INT
The Detroit Lions organization was hungry for a playoff victory and Jared Goff delivered. The 29-year-old former No. 1 overall pick showed leadership and did what he had to do to defeat the Los Angeles Rams on Wild Card Weekend.
In all Goff threw for just 1 touchdown in the game, but he led the Lions to three straight touchdown drives in route to a 24-23 victory at Ford Field.
In what was his best game of the season, Goff took more pride that his team was able to accomplish something they haven’t done in decades, win a playoff game.
“Yeah, it feels good,” Goff said following the game, via MLive.com. “I mean we’ve been saying it all year, it’s about this team. It has nothing to do with the last 30 years here. And obviously, that’s the case for the city and the fans and a lot of you guys, but to us, it’s about us and winning games and being in a spot now in the playoffs where we can continue our season every week and have those chances is important.”
Goff and the Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional round with an opportunity to advance to the NFC Championship Game.
