Ohio State. 87. . TreVeyon Henderson. . RB. player. Nsmd33. TreVeyon Henderson. 33

With the 33rd pick in the NFLMocks’ Midseason Mock Draft for the NFC South, the Panthers select TreVeyon Henderson, an exciting running back from Ohio State. Carolina needs an RB1 to ease the pressure on Bryce Young, and Henderson is the best halfback in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Henderson, a dual-role back, is poised to be the first ball carrier off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. His 40 time stands at a solid 4.39 seconds. In 2023, Henderson played in nine games, rushing for 854 yards on 137 carries, with 11 touchdowns and no fumbles. He also had 19 receptions for 229 yards. Henderson is patient in the backfield, allowing his blocking to develop, and he can spot cutback lanes and take advantage.

Henderson has an initial burst, along with good lateral quickness and footwork. His passing game abilities are strong; he has natural hands and a knack for wheel routes. His straight-line speed enables him to outrun angles, and he has the flexibility to turn corners on the perimeter while keeping near top speed. His vision is impressive, and he has the lateral movement and stop-start ability to make defenders miss. He also has breakaway speed in the open field, keeps his pads low and falls forward when in a crowd.

Chuba Hubbard and Henderson will form a great 1-2 punch. Henderson will take the workhorse role and take the pressure off Bryce Young. The Panthers still need a lot of help, but this pick is a start.
