While all eyes will be on the top quarterbacks selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, the two top wide receivers drafted will be making all the noise according to NFL.com’s bold predictions for Week 1.  We will tell you right now, these predictions will have New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals fans grinning from ear to ear.

When it comes to playmakers, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers were two of the best in the nation, college or NFL last season and both will bring their dynamic playmaking ability to the NFL.  With neither seeing a ton of action in the preseason, Week 1 in the NFL will really be the first time either player gets an extensive look.  Will they shine?

According to these NFL bold predictions, Harrison Jr. and Nabers won’t just shine, they will break records.

NFL analyst Michelle Magdziuk is going really bold in her prediction of what the Harrison Jr. will do in his debut against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.  With the Bills’ secondary an unknown to start the season, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft will have an opportunity to feast according to Magdzuik.

She writes:

“Marvin Harrison Jr. becomes the fourth rookie in NFL history to put up 150-plus receiving yards in Week 1, with former Cardinals legend Anquan Boldin (217 yards in Week 1, 2003) being the only other rookie to do it over the past 40 seasons. With the Bills losing multiple key pieces on defense this offseason, Kyler Murray shines while connecting with Harrison Jr. on multiple deep balls in Buffalo this Sunday.”

This prediction won’t happen because of the other weapons Murray has around him.  With second-year receiver Michael Wilson and star tight end Trey McBride demanding attention, it could lead to a big game for MHJ, but let’s give the Bills’ secondary more credit here. Harrison Jr. will get his yards and have a strong debut, but it will take some time for him to form the type of chemistry with Murray to have the type of monster game Magdzuik is predicting, although its not out of the realm of possibility given his poise and talent.

Can Malik Nabers dominate despite Daniel Jones?

Will Harrison Jr. be outshined by Nabers?

According to NFL analyst Michael F. Florio, Nabers is in for a memorable debut against the Minnesota Vikings.

He writes:

“Welcome to the NFL, Malik Nabers! He shows in his debut that he was made for this league, turning double-digit targets into 150 receiving yards and a touchdown against a Vikings secondary that really struggled against receivers last season.”

Again, it’s hard to see Nabers having that type of debut simply because of the quarterback throwing the ball to him.  Daniel Jones will have his struggles, but that won’t stop Nabers from impressing and coming down with some highlight worthy catches, but the Giants’ offense as a while will take some time to get rolling.  Nabers is too talented not to get his, but 150 yards is a tall task for a rookie who is already the top target in an offense that struggled throughout the 2023 NFL season.

In all, it will be exciting to watch both Harrison Jr. and Nabers do their thing on the field in Week 1.  While their ceiling is high, they are first year players who will need some time to adjust to NFL level defenses.  If just one of their predictions come true, it will be Nabers due to his ability to create after the catch.
