Round 5 Pick 140: Curtis Jacobs, OLB, Penn State

This position is led by two young promising players in Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari. Last season, Thibodeaux had an outstanding season registering 11.5 sacks, and is starting to look like the 4th rated player I had him graded as going into the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Ojulari missed six games last year and only recorded 2.5 sacks on the year.

Penn State’s Curtis Jacobs is a dynamic linebacker who should run one of the best 40-yard dashes among players at his position at the NFL Combine. His top trait is how well he holds up in coverage, but his explosiveness off the ball makes him an enticing pass rusher.

Round 6 Pick 185: Khristian Boyd, DT, UNI

One of new defensive coordinators Shane Bowen's goals this season will be to upgrade a run defense that gave up 132 yards per game and 4.7 yards per rush. This could be an even bigger need if A'Shawn Robinson leaves in free agency.

Northern Iowa’s Khristian Boyd is a massive defender who played nose tackle for the Panthers this season. In this role, he routinely fought through double teams to stop the run. He also led all FCS defensive tackles with 40 pressures this season.
