The Arizona Cardinals were up against many obstacles during the 2023 NFL season. Competing in a tough division in the NFC West, where they were the only team in that division with a losing record, the Cardinals were among the worst teams in the NFL with a 4-13 record.

2024 NFL Draft No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr stands out in OTAs

The Cardinals did just that after drafting Marvin Harrison Jr with fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft. As the top receiver selected, MHJ thrived during rookie minicamp and organized team activities (OTAs) with the 2024 NFL season just months away.

The son of Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Marvin Harrison Sr, the Ohio State product continues to live up to up to the hype for the Cardinals, something that the team would greatly benefit from coming off a 4-13 season.

Marvin Harrison Jr lives up to the hype after high school

It's worth noting that even before stepping onto the football field in college, Harrison Jr. was already a top prospect coming out of high school as he was ranked the 14th best wide receiver in the United States.

Living up to expectations as the son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer isn't easy. However, playing out of Ohio State, MHJ instantly became among the top college wide receivers in recent years.


A two-time Unanimous All-American during the three seasons he spent with Ohio State, Harrison Jr was already becoming a top prospect for the NFL Draft during his final season with Ohio State. Considering he won the Big Ten Most Valuable Player, Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, Big Ten Receiver of the Year, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award in his final season, it's no surprise the Cardinals rookie would receive the level of hype of he has upon entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

Cardinals have high expectations for Marvin Harrison Jr

Even though Harrison Jr has yet to play a single game for the Cardinals, one should know his performance in rookie training camp and OTAs has received positive feedback, which could be an indication that he's going to become among the breakout players this year. Furthermore, it's worth noting that his fellow teammates have taken notice of Harrison Jr's capabilities, as Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray stated he had a lot of expectations for him.

"I think that takes us to another level," Murray said (h/t ESPN). "When you got a guy out there that is capable of winning one-on-ones, obviously, he's got to go do it, and he knows that. We all know it, but as far as manipulating coverage and stuff like that, you got a guy out there that can do that, and even if he's not open, he's open."
