The Kansas City Chiefs look to make history this season by becoming the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row. They look to do this behind one of the best defenses in the NFL and a more dynamic offense. In this article we make 12 predictions on how the Chiefs season will unfold, and a couple of major events that will happen after the season.

Kansas Chiefs find their next Tyreek Hill?

1. Xavier Worthy will have at least 700 receiving yards

A player who found his ideal fit in the NFL is former Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy who was selected by Kansas City with the 28th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. This is a great fit for Worthy for a couple of reasons. One of those is he will be playing with the best quarterback in the NFL Patrick Mahomes. Another reason is the Cheifs will likely use Worthy in a similar fashion to how they used Tyreek Hill, due to both of them having elite speed. Yet another reason why is that the Cheifs desperately need wide receiver help which means Worthy will see his share of targets this year, which should be enough for him to account for at least 700 receiving yards this season.

2. Isiah Pacheco will have his first 1,000 yard rushing season

Another young player who will have an impressive season is running back Isiah Pacheco, who will have his first 1,000 yard rushing season. The main reason for this is the Chiefs will now be able to stretch a defense vertically with Xavier Worthy now in the lineup. The team will also likely count on him significantly this season after he finished third in the NFL last season with 286 carries.

3. Travis Kelce will catch at least 100 passes

Over the last six years, Travis Kelce has had a 100 reception season followed by a 90 reception season. This past season he caught 93 passes, which puts him on track to catch at least 100 passes this season. He also will likely see more playing time this year after only playing in a career-low 15 games last season. I also expect him to again lead the Chiefs and all NFL tight ends again in targets this season.

4. Jared Wiley will make a big impact this season

A day-three pick who will likely make a big impact this is TCU’s Jared Wiley. Going into the 2024 NFL Draft I had Wiley as my third rated tight end and as a top 50 player. However, he slid down to the fourth round before Kansas City took him with 131st pick, I expect Wiley to establish himself as the Chiefs number two tight end, and by the end of the season, the Chiefs will be running more 12 personal in order to get him on the field.

5. Kansas City will again field a top five defense

Last season the Cheifs finished in the top five defensively when it came to points and yards allowed. This season they will do the same. In large part due to their impressive pass rush that saw both George Karlaftis and Chris Jones finish with double-digit sack numbers.

6. George Karlaftis will make his first Pro Bowl

A player who should have made the Pro Bowl last year, but didn’t is Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis. Look for that to change this season though. I expect him to have his second 10 sack season in 2024, and he will establish himself as one of the top young defensive ends in the NFL.

8. Kansas City will beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC title game

The biggest challenge for the Chiefs this season in the AFC will likely be the Baltimore Ravens. A big reason why the Ravens will be so tough is their running game which led the NFL last season by 15 yards a game. Their running game should be even more dynamic this season after adding Derrick Henry in free agency. However, look for the Chiefs to pull out the win in this game next fall due to a more potent passing game.

9. Kansas City will be the first team to win three Super Bowls in a year

The Chiefs will then go on to win the Super Bowl and become the first team in NFL history to three-peat. While it is impossible to predict who the Chiefs will play in this game they will have two big advantages against any team they will face which are they will have the superior quarterback, and they will have more experience playing in the big game.

10. Kansas City will draft a wide receiver in the first or second round of the 2025 NFL Draft

Look for one of the Chiefs' biggest needs going into the 2025 NFL Draft to be wide receiver. The Chiefs will prioritize this as Rashee Rice has proven this offseason he can’t be counted on. Due to this look for them to draft his replacement and a player who could make sense is South Carolina’s Antwane Wells Jr.

11. Andy Reid will retire at the end of the season

Andy Reid will decide to call it a career after leading the first team to win three Super Bowls in a season. Once he sets this record the 66 year old coach will decide he want’s to spend the rest of his life focusing on his family and enjoying the retirement life.

12. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift will get engaged

Last season, Taylor Swift was the talk of the NFL and don’t look for that to change anytime soon. In fact, she will likely be an even bigger deal next season after she and Travis Kelce decide to tie the knot in June of 2025.
