Atlanta Falcons would give Justin Fields a chance to go home

Wouldn’t it be a story if the Georgia native returned home to be the man in AtlantaNFL Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero & Mike Garafolo threw some more smoke on the Justin Fields trade rumors by connecting Fields to the Falcons:

“If that all tracks, expect the Bears to be able to fetch a premium pick for Fields, who came on late in the season and flashed the potential he’s always had. The kind of leader he is in the locker room stands out, as well. This should be an active market, with teams such as the Falcons, in need of a quarterback but possibly drafting too late (No. 8 overall) for a premium one, emerging as an option, along with any other team that doesn’t believe it can land a top QB in the draft.”

With the talent the Falcons have on offense, Atlanta would be the perfect trade partner for the Bears if they decide to move Fields because they are just out of that range to land one of the top quarterback prospects.  Like the Raiders, the Falcons could explore free agency for a player like Baker Mayfield, but if they could acquire Fields in a trade, they would add him to a promising core of Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts.

That potential core would allow the Falcons to focus their attention on defense and give new head coach Raheem Morris a very interesting team to coach in 2024.

In all, each situation would give Fields an opportunity to break out in his career for different reasons.  The Steelers, Seahawks and Raiders are the more playoff ready teams, but the Patriots and Falcons present situations where he could spark revival from a team aspect and from an NFL young player perspective.
