New York Jets running back Braelon Allen has been making waves thus far this season.

Being drafted in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, it didn't take long for Allen to prove to everyone that he could be a valuable asset to the Jets, even though he's playing behind starting running back Breece Hall.

The Wisconsin product wasn't the most anticipated draftee to come out of the NFL, considering he was the 134th pick in this year's NFL Draft. However, Allen's upbringing in college when he played out of Wisconsin is worth looking into. Someone who initially got recruited as a defensive player, the Jets rookie adapted as an offensive player when he switched to running back and special teams in college, becoming a 3-time Second-team All-Big Ten and a former Las Vegas Bowl MVP throughout his college tenure.

With the Jets holding a 2-2 record through Week 4, Allen has been one of the bright spots for the New York franchise. For instance, in week 2, when the Jets defeated the Tenessee Titans 24-17, llen scored two touchdowns and got named Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week.

It's also worth noting that in recent weeks, Allen has been getting more carries. It appears the Jets will be utilizing him more in the upcoming weeks. If the talented rookie running back continues to impress, one may see him transition into becoming a starting running back for the Jets unless something happens to him where his playing ability will significantly decrease.

Allen is 20 years old, making him the youngest player in the NFL, meaning he has a lot of time to adapt and improve his craft. If Allen is good now, one could imagine how good he may be a few years down the line.
