Round 7 Pick 236: Myles Cole, DE, Texas Tech

The Texans have two of the top young defensive ends in the NFL Will Anderson and Jonathan Greenard. However, Greenard is a free agent but it is hard seeing the team letting him leave after he finished with 15 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks last season. Even if Greenard resigns the team will still need to add depth at this position.

Texas Tech’s Myles Cole is an intriguing developmental defensive end. He has ideal size coming in at 6-foot-6 and 272 pounds with an 87-inch wingspan. He also shows good athletic ability for a player his size. However, his questionable football IQ has only allowed him to pick up five sacks over his six year career with the Red Raiders.

Round 7 Pick: 245: Trevor Keegan, OG, Michigan

One of the worst picks in the Texans' history was the selection of Kenyon Green with the 15th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The team would love to replace him, but at this point in the NFL Draft, they will be looking more at adding depth to this position.

Michigan’s Trevor Keegan is a veteran offensive lineman who was named to the All-Big Ten team in both 2023 and 2022. Last season, he was also one of the better pass blockers in the conference allowing only 11 pressures and not giving up a sack. As a pro prospect, he is a tough hard-nosed player who will make the most of his talent at the next level.

Round 7 Pick 250: P.J. Jules, S, Southern Illinois

With their last pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans add their second defensive back of the draft. This time the team adds a safety to give them some needed depth behind Jimmie Ward who will be entering his 11th season and is coming off a season-ending injury.
