Houston Texans continue to build around CJ Stroud in 7-round mock draft

Round 2 Pick 59: Ja’Lynn Polk, WR, Washington
The Houston Texans have two good young wide receivers in Nico Collins and Tank Dell, but will likely look to add a number three receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft. Washington's Ja'Lynn Polk was part of the top wide receiver unit in college football and finished second on the Huskies with 69 receptions for 1,159 yards.
Polk would give Hoston another good-sized wide receiver and someone capable of playing opposite Nico Collins which would allow the Texans to move Dell inside to slot receiver. Despite his intriguing potential, he has battled drops during his career which is why he will likely be available with the 59th overall selection.
Round 3 Pick 86: Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State
Another pressing need for the Houston Texans is defensive tackle. One of the reasons the Texans may need to address this position early in the 2024 NFL Draft is that Sheldon Rankins is scheduled to be a free agent. Even if he resigns the team needs to add depth at this position.
Florida State’s Braden Fiske is a player you can count on giving one hundred percent down in and down out. In addition, to his high-effort play he also plays with great strength and has one of the better bullrushes in the 2024 NFL Draft. These two traits are just a couple of the reasons Fiske was able to make nine tackles for loss last season on his way to being named an All-Amercian.
