Eagles round out 2024 NFL Draft by adding depth on both sides of the ball
Is it the product of Philly getting drafted by Philly? Tykee Smith, a big hitter with instincts, excels at the defensive end position, where he can also be a Ball Hawk, having eight interceptions from playing at West Virginia and Georgia.
With Jason Kelce's future in Philadelphia left uncertain, the Eagles are going to have to draft a center just in case Kelce does retire and a backup for Cam Jurgens, who will most likely fill the role as center, but Drake Nugent isn't too be fooled around with standing at 6'1, this 300 pounder has good quickness and flexibility on blocking especially on screenplays.
Jaylin Simpson is very physical and versatile at the safety position and can cover the deep ball when needed; Simpson would be a tremendous late-pick acquisition for the Eagles. During his tenure with Auburn, Simpson compiled 118 total tackles and seven interceptions.
The Eagles have invested much into the offensive line over the past three seasons. Beaux Limmer, who has played both guard spots and center, could be a reliable playmaker for the Eagles if they select him with number 177; Limmer excels on the run block and can sometimes struggle on the pass block.
Anthony Belton is a very physical Offensive Tackle; he is very light on his feet at 6'6, 336 pounds, but he still needs work on his quarterback hurries and getting penalized less, as he had 18 quarterback hurries during his 2023 year at North Carolina.
