Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft: Jerry Jones finds his Tyron Smith replacement in full 7-round draft
By John Blair
Three undrafted free agents who could make sense for the Dallas Cowboys
Jay Stanley, S, Southern Miss
A player who was not invited to the NFL Combine yet should be signed as an undrafted is Southern Mississippi’s Jay Stanly. In 2022 he picked off five passes and also showed good ball skills in the five games he played this season.
Khristian Boyd, DT, UNI
Another player who didn’t make the trip to Indianapolis is UNI’s Khristian Boyd. However, Boyd is a strong-run defender who routinely fought through double-team blocks for the Panthers last season. He also looked impressive during the East-West Shrine Bowl and should be able to make an NFL roster as a backup defensive tackle.
Walter Rouse, OT, Oklahoma
Dallas prioritizes size on their offensive line and one of the bigger tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft is Walter Rouse of Oklahoma who messuers in at 6-foot-5 and 319 pounds. He is also coming off a strong season where he didn’t allow a sack on the year and had the highest run and pass blocking grade on the Sooners offensive line according to Pro Football Focus.
