Cardinals trade down, still land generational talent in latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft
By Hunter Haas
The Arizona Cardinals currently hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In today’s mock draft, the new regime sticks with quarterback Kyler Murray instead of replacing him with one of Drake Maye or Caleb Williams.
In doing so, the team acquires multiple high-end draft picks by moving down the board a few spots. With the Patriots jumping from No. 4 to No. 2, this allows the Cardinals to still land one of the premier prospects on the board.
Murray is set to return to the field against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. It gives head coach Jonathan Gannon a chance to build positive momentum heading into the upcoming offseason. After the trade with the Patriots, Arizona will have no shortage of flexibility when it comes to assembling a competitive roster around its franchise signal-caller.
Cardinals Mock Draft: Kyler Murray Needs Help — And He Gets It
Without further ado, let’s dive into this Cardinals mock draft and attempt to get them back on track in a competitive NFC West division.
Round 1, Pick 4 — Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
What can be said about Marvin Harrison Jr. that hasn’t already been said? The son of a Hall of Famer, Harrison Jr. boasts the same refined route running as his pops while possessing a frame that Senior could only dream of. At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, MHJ looks the part of an NFL WR1.
As for the Cardinals, if Kyler Murray is the guy going forward, it would behoove the front office to assemble as much talent around him as possible. Expect Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to receive an extension in the offseason to ensure that Murray has a lethal pass-catching duo at his disposal in 2024.
