Denver Broncos: Caleb Williams would be a Mile High reach

Now, let’s get bold.  If the Chicago Bears are willing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos could be a team to watch with Russell Wilson probably not returning.

The Broncos are currently in position where they could draft another top quarterback talent like Michael Penix Jr. or Jayden Daniels if he were to slip down.  There may not be a need give up draft capital and perhaps a player in a package to land the No. 1 overall pick, but Williams is such a stud that the ideal could intrigue Payton who got the team playing the way they he wanted them to play by the middle of the season.

A big part of that turnaround was a Russell Wilson revival that eventually faded towards the end of the season when they failed to make the playoffs.  Ironically, if it wasn’t for that turnaround, the Broncos were trending in a position to be able to draft Caleb Williams, who’s accuracy throwing the ball and dynamic playmaking would mend nicely with top weapons like Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and running back Javonte Williams.

Though it could take including one of those players and a loaded trade package to entice the Bears into giving up the No. 1 pick, Caleb Williams playing under Payton on a team that was close to making the playoffs would be an ideal spot for a rookie entering the league with the spotlight on him.
