2024 NFL Mock Draft: Shocking Day 2 selections for each NFC East team
By Beau Adams
With the No. 36 pick in the NFL Mocks mid-season mock draft for the NFC East, the New York Giants select Andrew Mukuba, S from the University of Clemson.
Andrew Mukuba is a two-year starter in the Clemson Tigers secondary. He is capable of playing both safety positions, as well as corner or nickel. Although he has good height, he is a bit underweight for the NFL. His projected 40 time of 4.47 seconds is a tenth faster than the average for the position. This earned him recognition as an All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2022, Freshman All-American in 2021, ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021, and Second-Team All-ACC from Pro Football Focus in 2021.
Mukuba has excellent quickness and top-end speed to stay with receivers on routes, and his agility to change direction and move in his backpedal is top-notch.
Comparable to Antoine Winfield Jr., Mukuba can certainly hold his own against most of the route tree. He will serve the Giants well for the foreseeable future.
