No. 67 – Patriots go with Arizona tackle Jordan Morgan

With the New England Patriots standing pat and selecting players at their current draft position, the team will address their need for tackle in the third round by selecting Jordan Morgan out of the University of Arizona.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 325 pounds, Morgan is an offensive lineman with the type of flexibility the Patriots can work with to move him around the line if he doesn’t settle in as tackle.  Good in the run game and at protecting the quarterback, Morgan is a player who could end up being a steal in the third round, especially since he did opt for another season in college after suffering an ACL tear in 2023.

With the future of Trent Brown and Michael Onwenu uncertain, the Patriots will need to address the offensive line in more ways than in the draft, but selecting Morgan will be a good start as he is a player who has showcased consistency throughout his days in Arizona.

Now, with length and wingspan being a couple of his physical weaknesses, his ability to play outside in the NFL will be up for debate.  That is why his flexibility is key.  If playing tackle becomes an issue, moving him inside at guard could be. More of a value for the Patriots.

I guess that would leave the team still searching for a tackle to protect the blind side.  With. More selections to make, the Patriots could always strike gold later in the draft.
