With the No. 74 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Jets will address the offensive line and select tackle Patrick Paul out of the University of Houston.
At 6-foot-7, 315 pounds, Paul has good size and is fundamentally sound with his blocking and pass protection which really stood out during his 2023 season with the Cougars. According to Pro Football Focus, Paul didn’t allow a quarterback pressure through his first 6 games, wouldn’t the Jets love that?
In fact, Paul still being available in the third round could be the surprise of the 2024 NFL Draft as Paul is a player most mock drafts have as going in the late first round. If the Jets pull this off, they will have vastly improved their offense with the return of Rodgers and through the draft.
The Jets will also spend via free agency like they always do and can use the rest of the draft to continue to rebuild the offensive line and find depth along their defensive line as the team ranked last in rushing defense as of Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season.
