2024 NFL Mock Draft: Intriguing Day 2 selections for each AFC West team
By Beau Adams
Back up at No. 63 is the Las Vegas Raiders, taking the offensive tackle from Duke, Graham Barton. Protecting their shiny new prize QB should be a priority, and Barton is the perfect man for the job.
Graham Barton has 39 career starts, 34 of which have been at the left tackle position and five at center. He is impressively strong and has a low center of gravity, which provides a great base. He is a great pass protector, as his quickness and knowledge of how to brace and lift allow him to keep defenders away from his body.
Barton is also an excellent run blocker due to his pad level, body positioning, and finishing skills. His leadership qualities are world-class, and he often plays beyond the whistle. His feet are good enough to hold his own in pass protection, and his understanding of angles and ability to adjust to twists and stunts is impressive. Moreover, he knows how to build the pocket and anchor well against bull rushers.
Barton is among the few low-key gems on the o-line in the 2024 draft. He will serve the Raiders well without much attention or large looming contracts. With similar size and style, I would expect a comparable production to Luke Goedeke of the Buccaneers.
