The 2023 Super Bowl Champion Philidelphia Eagles, with the 32nd puck in the NFL Mocks mid-season mock draft for the NFC East, select Georgia C Sedrick Van Pran. Again, The Eagles snake a prime Georgia Bulldog in the draft; this one they may have taken too early.
Sedrick Van Pran, the center for the Georgia Bulldogs, has the perfect build for his position, with his squatty frame granting him leverage as well as functional strength to protect the quarterback pocket. This seasoned starter is the foundation of the Georgia dynasty. His contributions may not be overt, but the stability he brings has been a boon to the team. His quick grasp of the game was evident last season when he started all 15 games for the national championship-winning Bulldogs as a redshirt freshman. As he is now eligible for the NFL Draft, Van Pran was already on the radar as a four-star recruit from New Orleans in high school. He is ahead of the game as a 2023 NFL Draft prospect.
Standing at 6'4" and 310 pounds, the center has a solid and compact frame that is complemented by his athleticism. His speed and explosiveness off the snap allow him to get outside the 2i and seal blocks. He is agile enough to adjust blocking angles and track linebackers at the second level. Van Pran is a smooth mover facing defenders across the formation and possesses the core strength to absorb power rushes. Furthermore, his strong base and proportional frame aid in his ability to hold his ground.
The Eagles take the best center in years; even if it was a reach, they know Van Pran wouldn't be there with their next pick at No. 51. The get the Jason Kelce replacement, now they just need to teach him the brotherly-shove.
Stay tuned for Day 2 of the NFL Mocks mid-season mock draft for the NFC East, the Commanders use the Chase Young pick, and the Eagles add another weapon.
