2024 NFL Mock Draft: Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels go 1-2, Jets get top playmaker, Colts land top corner
By John Blair
NFL Draft Picks 29-32
29. Detroi Lions: T’Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas
The Lions add a run stuffer to compliment Alim McNeill, and Sweat may be the best defensive tackle when it comes to stopping the run. Sweat has massive size coming at 6-foot-4 and 362 pounds, and was Pro Football Focuses highest graded run defender in college football last season.
30. Baltimore Raves: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
The Ravens saw several injuries in its secondary this year, so the team decides to add some depth at this position. Quinyon Mitchell is an impressive athlete who posts a 4.3 40-yard dash and bench presses 225 pounds 21 times according to Bruce Feldman. He also finished second in the FBS this year with 18 pass breakups.
Chiefs get Patrick Mahomes an exciting playmaker
31. Kansas City Chiefs: Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
Anyone who has seen the Chiefs play this year can see that Kansas City needs wide receiver help. With the addition of Troy Franklin the team gets a dynamic playmaker who averaged 17.1 yards per catch this season. He has the speed to be a deep threat, but is also quick and elusiveness to be dangerous after the catch.
32. San Fransico 49ers: Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona
One of the few weaknesses on the 49ers this season was the interior of their offensive line. Arizona’s Jordan Morgan was named first-team All-Pac 12 this year at offensive tackle. However, some scouts view him more as an offensive guard which is the position he would likely play in San Fransico.
