2024 NFL Draft — Trey Benson, Bucky Irving rank high on updated running back rankings

The running back position catches considerable flack in NFL circles. Sure, the position is far from the most important, but it is still crucial to a team’s success. The 2024 NFL Draft offers multiple starting-caliber prospects.

Braelon Allen Checks Every Box; Lays Claim To RB4 Mantle In 2024 NFL Draft

RB4: Braelon Allen (Wisconsin)

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 245 pounds

2023 Stats: 181 attempts, 982 rushing yards (5.4 YPC), 12 touchdowns, 682 yards after contact, 50 forced missed tackles, 28 receptions

After highlighting two players that fall below the standard threshold for an every-down running back, Braelon Allen checks in at RB4 with more than enough on his frame. Still only 19 years old, the Wisconsin superstar stands at an intimidating 6-foot-2 while weighing north of 245 pounds.

You might think that size would hamper Allen's top speed, but you would be wrong. He still boasts 4.4 speed on tape, regularly using a full head of steam to barrel over oncoming tacklers. Allen could stand to improve his patience when waiting for holes to develop, but few of his peers can match his all-around game (and youth).
