2024 NFL Draft All-Defensive Team: 11 draft prospects every NFL defensive coordinator will love

Prototypical safety leads defensive backfield
Tyler Nubin, S - Minnesota: This was an easy choice. No draft prospect is the complete package, and Nubin is no exception, but he possesses several qualities that make him an excellent safety prospect. The 22-year-old has demonstrated the ability to anticipate routes effectively, and his ball skills are exceptional.
Nubin has prototypical height and weight for the position at 6’2” and 210 lbs, and his physicality and ability to shed blocks suggest he could spend time in the box. He won’t blow people away with his performance in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, but we suspect NFL teams won’t be discouraged.
Kamren Kinchens, Miami: Kinchins is one of the top two safeties in this class and an ideal complement for Nubin as the centerfielder in this All-Draft defense. Like Nubin, Kinchens has proven adept at diagnosing and anticipating plays and boasts enviable ball skills.
His detractors will understandably point to his 16.7 percent missed tackle rate over the last two seasons as a problem. Still, we see a player who plays with a violent streak with the potential to improve his tackling form and technique without compromising aggressiveness.
