NFL fantasy football owners behold! Is this the week for highly drafted rookie tight ends not named Tyler Warren to emerge?
Could this be the week the New York Jets get 2025 NFL Draft second round pick Mason Taylor going in the offense? With the team going up against the winless Miami Dolphins, it could a good time for the Jets to utilize their athletic tight end a bit more.
In the NFC central, can Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson get their top 10 pick in the mix? Is it time for the real Colston Loveland to stand up and look at the first tight end off the board I the 2025 NFL Draft?
With those two tight ends in the spotlight, here is a look at who to start and who to sit in Week 4 among rookie tight ends.
NFL Week 4 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em
TE– Tyler Warren, TE4, Indianapolis Colts (3-0) vs. Los Angeles Rams (2-1)
Tyler Warren and the Indianapolis Colts have a big challenge in Week 4 going on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. It will be a litmus test for the Colts and Warren who is already showing to be a top tight end in the league. Despite the Rams front seven, Warren does have a favorable matchup against the Rams pass defense, so fantasy owners ride him again.
So far this season, Warren has 14 receptions for 193 yards and while he has been solid, he has yet to have that breakout game. If the Colts are to go on the road and remain undefeated, that big game must come against the Rams who will be locked in on rattling Daniel Jones and containing Jonathan Taylor.
TE – Mason Taylor, TE22, New York Jets (0-3) vs. Miami Dolphins (0-3)
In an AFC East battle of winless teams, it could be the week Mason Taylor contributes in the Jets’ offense. The Dolphins have been giving up points and it would be ironic if Taylor’s first big game of the season came against his father’s (Jason Taylor) former team. The LSU product has just 6 receptions on 8 targets for 43 yards so far this season. He could get all of that and more in this game vs a Dolphins team really on the brink of total collapse.
TE – Colston Loveland, TE37, Chicago Bears (1-2) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (1-2)
One of these weeks Colston Loveland will get going. Could it be Week 4 against the Raiders? The Bears’ offense is riding high after a beatdown of the Dallas Cowboys. Second-year quarterback Caleb Williams was able to get it going to rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III. This week bet on him finally getting it going with Loveland who has just 43 yards receiving through the first 3 weeks of his NFL career.
As a top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s time to get this playmaker involved and going. With Brock Bowers on the other side, the Bears will be motivated to get their own young tight end going.
Note: Loveland did not practice on Wednesday due to a hip injury.
NFL Week 2 Fantasy Football Sit ‘Em
TE– Elijah Arroyo, TE38, Seattle Seahawks (2-1) vs. Arizona Cardinals (2-1)
This Thursday night matchup features two teams at 2-1 and looking to stay on pace with the San Francisco 49ers. One team will feature the No. 1 fantasy tight end in Trey McBride. The other team has a young tight end they still need to get going. As talented as Elijah Arroyo is, it’s hard to see him get going against a Cardinals team that hasn’t allowed much production from opposing tight ends. With just 3 receptions through the first 3 games, the Seahawks’ second-round pick has the tools to be a factor in the offense, it just won’t come this week.
TE– Gunnar Helm, TE39, Tennessee Titans (0-3) vs. Houston Texans (0-3)
The Cam Ward to Gunnar Helm connection may be non-existent this week against a Houston Texans team desperate for a win. Helm has 52 yards receiving for 6 receptions this season, but it is unlikely he’ll have more than a couple of targets in this game in Houston. The Texans defense will be flying around and force Ward into a couple of turnovers early. It will be surprising if the tight end is involved much in this game.
NFL Week 4 Fantasy Football Sleepers
TE– Oronde Gadsden II, TE32, Los Angeles Chargers (3-0) vs. New York Giants (0-3)
The Chargers are looking to remain undefeated traveling to New York to take on the Giants. Justin Herbert has been outstanding and has had his pick of playmakers through the first three weeks of the season. If he can get tight end Oronde Gadsden II going, the Chargers are really going to be a tough team to start. The 6-foot-5, 236-pound tight end is the sleeper this week. He has just 5 receptions for 46 yards but look for him to really get going against a Giants defense that will be locked in on stopping the trio of Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.
Bye Week:
- TE – Harold Fannin Jr. TE12
