If the Chicago Bears find their way, the NFC North could shape up to be the best division in the NFL top to bottom.  With the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings coming off playoff seasons, it should be a battle to the end.

With high-end talent, and quarterbacks in position to succeed, whoever captures the intriguing NFC North division might be the team who gets the most out of their 2025 NFL Draft class.  With talent like Colston Loveland, Matthew Golden and Tyliek Williams entering the division, NFL Mocks ranks each draft class as the NFL moves towards the preseason schedule.

NFC North Draft class rankings based on needs and value

Here is a ranking of the draft classes highlighting draft selections that stand out for each team.

1: Green Bay Packers load up on draft day

After a surprising 2023 playoff run, the Packers made the playoffs in 2024 but didn’t have the success they did a year player in losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Wild Card round.  After a 11-6 season, the Packers will look to be even more of a force in the NFC North, but to do that they entered the offseason with a need to surround Jordan Love with more weapons and get stronger on defense.

Top Pick: Love got quite a weapon in Matthew Golden who was selected with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.  A player whose draft stock rose after an impressive NFL Combine, Golden has the ability and speed to step right end and be a potential No. 1 option with Christian Watson making his way back from a torn right ACL.

At Texas last season, Golden hauled in 57 passes for 987 yards and 9 touchdowns.  What stood out was his explosive ability after the catch whether from in the slot or on the outside.  Love will find plenty of ways to get the ball to his new weapon in 2025. Watch out NFC North!

Surprise Pick: The Packers may have hit the jackpot with the selection of Savion Williams with the No. 87 overall pick in the draft.  After the selection of Golden in the first round, the fact Williams was available in the third round is a win for the Packers who showed their commitment to addressing the wide receiver position in the draft with another receiver who is already displaying his talent and stealing headlines in training camp.

Favorite Pick: In addressing the offensive line, the Packers got a good one in NC State’s Anthony Belton who will add size and power to the Packers’ offensive line.  Belton’s ability as both a run blocker and pass blocker will play a large role in the team’s offensive plans in 2025.  A solid pick overall.

A potential steal of the draft: The Packers double dipped at edge in the draft. The first of the two picks, Barryn Sorrell, could be a steal if he ends up improving the pass rush.  With Texas in 2024, Sorrell logged 6.0 sacks and 44 combined tackles coming off the edge for the Longhorns.  Although he doesn’t stand out on film, his power and pure effort in getting to the quarterback will shine as a mid-round pick who could make an impact Year 1.
