3: Can the Philadelphia Eagles continue to fly high in the NFC East?
The Eagles hit the jackpot in the 2024 NFL Draft with top picks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean making major contributions in the team’s Super Bowl winning run. A team that took some hits to the roster, the Eagles approached the 2025 NFL Draft looking for value and player who can step in and help fill the void of some of those player departures.
Top Pick: The Eagles pounced on Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell who was available at No. 31. This was labeled as an “easy pick” for the team as the speed and impact of Campbell will be utilized by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. The question is where they will plug Campbell into the defensive scheme. With Nakobe Dean recovering from a torn patellar tendon, Campbell could start opposite Zach Baun as an off-ball linebacker. He also has the versatility to play off the edge in getting to the quarterback. It will depend on what the team needs most, but they do have a player who can fill multiple roles. He’ll make his presence known in some way.

Surprise Pick: With Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts further solidifying himself as the team’s franchise quarterback, selecting any QB in the draft was a surprise. In taking Kyle McCord with the No. 181 overall pick, the Eagles add some insurance at the QB position if Hurts went down.
Favorite Pick: Aside from Campbell, the selection of safety Andrew Mukuba with the No. 64 overall pick in the draft will help the team replace safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson who they traded in the offseason and Darius Slay who left in free agency. The Texas product gives them another high pick talent at the position to potentially compete with DeJean if the team decides to use him at safety. Either player could be the starter opposite Reed Blankenship.
A potential steal of the draft: Nebraska’s Ty Robinson could be one of those players for the Eagles who not only adds depth but ends up playing a bigger role in Year 1. After losing Milton Williams in free agency, the Eagles still have Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis anchoring the defensive front. But look out for Robinson to make an impact in rotation due to his athleticism and experience in college.
