The Los Angeles Rams have a strong track record of finding value picks in the NFL Draft. In 2024, they had the second-ranked draft class according to NFL.com, adding NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, along with key contributors like Braden Fiske and Beaux Limmer.
So, how did the Rams fare in the 2025 NFL Draft? Upon reviewing their selections, it’s clear that one of their strongest areas of focus was continuing to build up the front seven of their defense. Additionally, they added an intriguing tight end in Terrance Ferguson, who should become their starting tight end this fall. However, their most significant move may have been the trade with the Falcons to secure their 2026 first-round pick, which could end up being a top 10 selection.
Reviewing the Rams' 2025 NFL Draft class
Round 2, Pick 90 – Terrance Ferguson, TE, Oregon: Rams head coach Sean McVay was high on Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson, even drawing a bold comparison to Travis Kelce. That’s an unrealistic bar, but there’s no denying Ferguson was one of the more athletic tight ends in the 2025 draft. He posted 43 catches for 591 yards and three touchdowns last season, setting Oregon’s all-time records for career receptions (134) and receiving touchdowns (16) by a tight end. Look for him to be the Rams number one tight end this season.

Round 3, Pick 90 – Josaiah Stewart, EDGE, Michigan: The Rams have built a strong track record of drafting productive front-seven defenders in recent years, and they may have found another with Josaiah Stewart. He fits their 3-4 scheme well and brings a relentless motor that helped him notch 8.5 sacks last season. Stewart flashes good burst off the snap and surprising power for his size, making him a potential impact player in passing situations early on.
“Josaiah Stewart is an explosive, strong player. Maximum effort on most plays. Fun to watch.” – AFC scout to NFL.com
Round 4, Pick 117 – Jarquez Hunter, RB, Auburn: It’s a bit puzzling that the Rams traded up for Jarquez Hunter, especially with more explosive backs like Dylan Sampson still on the board. That said, they only gave up a sixth-rounder, so the cost was minimal. While Hunter doesn’t have elite burst, he’s a tough, physical runner. A former state champion powerlifter, he led the SEC with 39 forced missed tackles in 2023—proof of his strength and balance.
Round 5, Pick 148 – Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio State: The Rams traded up again, this time sending a 2026 fourth-round pick and a sixth-rounder in this draft to land Ohio State’s Ty Hamilton. That’s a decent amount of draft capital, but it could pay off. Hamilton has intriguing traits—most notably his initial burst off the ball. At Ohio State, he was often miscast as a nose tackle, but if the Rams let him play more 3-technique, where his quickness can shine, he has the upside to become a high-quality starter within a few years.

Round 5, Pick 172 – Chris Paul Jr., LB, Mississippi: Many Rams fans were hoping the team would address the linebacker position earlier in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they found good value at pick 172 with Chris Paul Jr. He’s a tough, physical linebacker who excels at securing tackles. With his reliable, hard-hitting style, expect Paul to see plenty of playing time this season.
Round 7, Pick 242 – Konata Mumpfield, WR, Pittsburgh: With their final pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams added depth to their wide receiver corps by selecting Konata Mumpfield. Over the past two seasons, Mumpfield led Pittsburgh in receiving yards and made several tough catches. However, he’ll need to work on his focus during routine plays and cut down on the four drops he had last season. If he can improve his consistency, Mumpfield has the potential to be a solid contributor.
