The Texas A&M Aggies (1-0) started their 2025 football season in grand fashion with a 42-24 win over the UTSA Roadrunners (0-1) Saturday night at Kyle Field.  The victory featured the stellar debut of wide receiver transfer KC Concepcion.

Living up to the hype and bright new lights surrounding the stadium, Concepcion flashed immediately with a 15-yard reception in the first quarter of the game.  He then took it to the house on an 80-yard punt return in the same quarter. That was just the start.

Where Concepcion got NFL scouts on their feet was this outstanding touchdown reception from Aggies QB Marcel Reed which had the Roadrunners chasing him across and down the field.

Glimpse your eyes on this:

In all, Concepcion finished the game with 3 receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown along with 2 punt returns for 94 yards and a touchdown.

KC Concepcion’s versatility on display

As it was a big night for many Aggies players, including Reed who had a big night at the QB position, the excitement was on Concepcion who transferred after two seasons at N.C. State.  One of the biggest reasons for the hype was the versatility he displayed on the field.

At 5-11, 187 pounds, Concepcion isn’t the biggest receiver but his crafty route running and after the catch artistry makes him the perfect slot receiver for any NFL team.  He showed off that mastery after the catch in the play above and he’ll showcase that more as the season goes along.

What NFL teams will also love about Concepcion is how he performs in big moments.  He will be put to the test once Texas A&M faces stiffer competition, but his toughness as a receiver will start to stand out and raise his 2026 NFL Draft stock higher.  As of now, he looks like a high Day 2 pick.

2026 NFL Draft: 3 teams that should have KC Concepcion high on their radar

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins will likely be in the market for a wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft.  Beyond Jayden Waddle, it doesn’t look like Tyreek Hill is long for South Beach.  Both Malik Washington and Tahj Washington will have a chance to step up as reliable weapons for Tua Tagovailoa, but a player like Concepcion fits what the Dolphins’ offense likes to do with getting the ball in the hands of playmakers and weaponize their speed.

Philadelphia Eagles:  It wouldn’t be a surprise if Concepcion fell right into the lap of the Eagles.  The defending Super Bowl Champions traded for John Metchie III to add depth at receiver, but beyond A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson, the Eagles could be in trouble if either of them get hurt.  Concepcion could be a player on their radar if Dotson and Metchie III doesn’t make solid contributions in 2025.

Los Angeles Rams: The Rams are another team that would utilize the craft of Concepcion.  They enter the 2025 NFL season with Davante Adams and Puka Nacua as their top two receivers with Tutu Atwell as the WR3.  Jordan Whittington adds depth, but they could use another playmaker who can create after the catch.  Sean McVay would have a field day drawing up plays for Concepcion in a Rams uniform.
