Jacksonville Jaguars 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Rebuilding a winner around Trevor Lawrence
Is it roster reset time for the Jacksonville Jaguars?
Just two seasons removed from giving the Kansas City Chiefs all they could handle in the divisional round of the 2022 NFL playoffs, Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have gone in the opposite direction since establishing themselves as an up-and-coming team. Off to an 1-5 start to start the 2024 NFL season, suddenly there is rumblings of change around this AFC South squad.
With head coach Doug Pederson on the hot season, there looks to be a need for a “culture change” in Duvall County. Could that change start if the team loses in Week 7 to the New England Patriots in London?
That could set up a roster reset at the very least which has already started with the team trading defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Another loss and the Jags may be trading away more players and a coaching change will be imminent. The silver lining to the possible changes will be a high draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to start the roster reset in Jacksonville.

Team defense: Rank 31st (390.0 yards per game)

2025 NFL Draft outlook
The Jaguars currently hold the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft which would open the door for many possibilities for a team on the mend of a rebuild. If they keep the pick, the choice could become between selecting the top cornerback in the draft or tackle.
With cornerbacks like Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Michigan’s Will Johnson, and Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison at the top of the draft board at cornerback, there will be an opportunity for the Jaguars to get their lockdown corner. But is the bigger need at tackle? That’s where Texas star Kelvin Banks Jr. and LSU’s Will Campbell head a deep class at tackle. In selecting that high, the Jaguars will have an interesting choice as to which direction they want to go in. With both positions being deep, they could fulfill a need at whichever position they don’t fill on Day 2 of the draft.
Some other positions of need for the Jaguars will be, linebacker, anterior defensive line depth, safety, tight end, and interior offensive line. In an interesting tight end class, the Jags could find a steal in Day 3 of the draft. Here is an early-season look at what Jaguars GM Trent Baalke and the Jaguars will do in this three-round NFL Mock Draft.
It starts with the offensive line for the Jaguars. With the No. 3 overall pick, Jacksonville protects Lawrence’s blind side with the selection of LSU’s Will Campbell. As the second tackle taken off the board in the first three picks, Campbell is a massive upgrade over the tackle play the Jaguars have received so far from Cam Robinson.
As a 2024 NFL Trade Deadline candidate and pending free agent in the offseason, Robinson’s days in Jacksonville are numbered and the team will turn the page by drafting one of the best if not the best tackles in the nation. At 6-foot-6, 3232 pounds, the balance, physicality, and natural leadership of Campbell will help reshape the offense line and give Lawrence some time to do his thing.
Sticking with the trenches, the Jaguars get some anterior defensive help with the selection of Ohio State’s Tyleik Williams with the No. 34 overall pick. After trading Robertson-Harris to the Seattle Seahawks for a sixth-round pick, it looks like the Jaguars are looking to make some changes on both sides of the ball. In selecting Williams, they get a first-round talent with ideal size in anchoring the middle of the defensive line.
Noted for his versatility playing along the defensive line, Williams has powerful upper body strength that allows him to disrupt the line of scrimmage and bull rush the passer. With Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker at defensive end, the addition of Williams will give Jacksonville a notable D-line, especially if Maason Smith, the No. 48 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, lives up to his talent.
Brian Thomas Jr. is having a superb rookie season at the wide receiver position, but that won’t stop the Jaguars from adding more playmakers for Lawrence. In another deep draft for wide receivers, Jacksonville uses the No. 65 overall pick on Mississippi wide receiver Tre Harris.
At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Harris will be a nice Day 2 pick for the Jags. An outside receiver, Harris has ideal size, speed, and outstanding hands to create a nice trio of wide receivers with Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis. As a physical wide receiver, Harris will give Lawrence another red zone threat and most importantly, another reliable target on the field.
The Jaguars do get a press cornerback on Day 2 of the draft with the selection of Virginia Tech’s Dorian Strong with the No. 96 overall pick. An outside cover man, Strong has the size and instincts to be a competitive defender in the NFL. With the Jags needing an upgrade at the position, the team may have to turn to free agency to find a veteran cornerback to lead the group until a young player like Strong comes into his own.
