What is up, NFL Mocks readers?
You may have seen the other blogs that have been written by our other staff members, but if you haven’t and are wondering what the heck these are, let me explain.
These blogs will be our chance, as the staff members of NFL Mocks, to speak informally about our other interests and opinions, giving our readers a unique glimpse into who we are outside of being NFL writers.
So, now with all of the nitty gritty being addressed, here is a brief background into who I am and what my interests are outside of NFL Mocks.
I live in Philadelphia and I’m a four-for-four guy (meaning I root for all four of our major sports teams), with the Eagles being my first love. I have witnessed some very interesting periods in Philadelphia sports history and to name a few: the Andy Reid Era, the Phillies dominance, and the Sixers tanking experiment.
On top of rooting for the Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Sixers, probably my favorite sports team in the entire world is Manchester United. Yes, I am a HUGE soccer fan. I have played soccer since I was 6 years old and I fell in love with United after watching a Manchester United game and seeing Ronaldo play because I wanted to be just like him. I’ve stuck with United through all of the glory years under Sir Alex, the disaster which was David Moyes, and the up-and-down season under van Gaal. If there happens to be any soccer fans who get a hold of my blog, feel free to comment below and we can discuss the world of soccer.
Like George Stockburger, I am also a Penn State student and a season ticket holder for football. Penn State is an amazing school, and to be honest, I was kind of forced in to going there, but I’m so happy I was because it is such a phenomenal and FUN place. As you may expect, I will be providing tons of content regarding Penn State on the site moving into this next year, along with covering the rest of the BIG 10.
One last thing about me is that I’m a very competitive tennis player…or was. I started playing tennis when I was seven years old and I spent eleven years competing in tournaments all over the east coast. Unfortunately, during my senior year of high school, I burned out and as soon as the season ended, I put the racquet down. This ties into me going to Penn State because I turned down all my scholarship offers, greatly limiting my college choices. I picked up a racquet again at the end of November and have since gotten back into tennis and I will actually begin my coaching career this summer.
Any way, in the future this blog will be more geared towards my opinions about different issues in the world, as this was an introductory piece.
I can’t wait to talk to you guys in the near future and until next time….
