The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. What will the team need to do in the 2025 NFL Draft to add to a winning formula and repeat as champions?
After losing some key pieces on defense, the focus for the Eagles should primarily be on that side of the ball. Although 2024 NFL Draft picks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean helped revamp the secondary, the team can look to add another cornerback and a safety to the mix.
Along the defensive line, the Eagles will look to replace Milton Williams and potentially add an Edge defender at some point in the draft. In this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, we explore players who can come in and have similar contributions as Mitchell and DeJean did in Year 1.

2025 NFL Draft outlook
The Eagles will look to add reinforcements on defense after some key losses in free agency. The team will be looking for a safety in this draft. Some names to watch late in the first round or on Day two are Notre Dame’s Xavier Watts, South Carolina’s Nick Emmanwori, Penn State’s Kevin Winston Jr., Ohio State’s Lathan Ransom and Texas stud Andrew Mukuba. They can also opt for Cooper DeJean’s Iowa teammate Sebastian Castro in later rounds.
As far adding another cornerback, the Eagles could target Trey Amos, Maxwell Hairston or Benjamin Morrison on Day 1 or Day 2. They could consider adding to the interior of the defensive line or at edge if more talented players are available when they select. In all, a deep draft as far as the positions of need for the Super Bowl champions.
Here is a look at what General Manager Howie Roseman and the Eagles will do in this three-round NFL Mock Draft.
2025 NFL Mock Draft (three-round)
The Super Bowl champions replace Milton Williams in the 2025 NFL Draft with former Oregon defensive lineman Derrick Harmon. At 6-foot-4, 313 pounds, Harmon is a powerful player who can help anchor the middle of the Eagles defensive line. He is a force who can collapse the middle of the pocket and will look good alongside Jalen Carter. In all, Harmon may be looked at as an upgrade over Williams.
The Eagles continue to build their secondary with another young player in Benjamin Morrison. The Notre Dame product is a top 5 cornerback in this draft (when healthy) who will likely slide to Day 2 where the Eagles will pounce on him. At 6-foot-0, 193 pounds, Morrison is an aggressive cornerback, especially in zone coverage. He has great route recognitions and the versatility to play outside corner as well as in the slot. When all is said and done, the Eagles will find themselves with a nice trio of Morrison, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
There’s an idea that DeJean could slide to safety, especially after drafting Morrison. However, the Eagles still draft a safety in Texas product Andrew Mukuba. The former Longhorns safety possesses explosive athleticism and a high IQ in the defensive backfield. He also excels at dropping down in the box and playing against the run. In all, Mukuba rounds out a strong Day 2 in the 2025 NFL Draft.
