Did Jeremiyah Love just stamp his name into the top 5 of the 2026 NFL Draft?

The Tennessee Titans could take the Notre Dame star earlier than previously expected.

How high can Jeremiyah Love go in the 2026 NFL Draft?

The tape and production were already there, but the Notre Dame running back put the cherry on top in front of the Indianapolis crowd by running an official 4.36 in the 40-yard dash.

Love averaged a phenomenal 6.7 yards per carry throughout his career for the Fighting Irish, capping it off with 1,372 yards on 199 carries (6.9 YPC) with 18 touchdowns that earned him a trip to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist — where he finished third in voting.

General consensus has been a top-10 pick, but there are now rumors swirling that the Tennessee Titans view him as the best player in the draft — which I would agree with. If he drops past Tennessee at No. 4, there will be a lot of regret from the teams that pass him up. Not only has Love checked the on-field and testing boxes, but he has been top-notch in the interview process as well — something he showed on multiple occasions during his college career.

Notre Dame running back will get some top 5 love

Las Vegas is out of the picture. The Raiders drafted Ashton Jeanty one year ago, and they are in dire need of a quarterback — making national champion Fernando Mendoza the slam-dunk selection.

The New York Jets? Love would be a perfect fit and a significant upgrade from departing free agent Breece Hall, but in this day and age they absolutely have to address their defensive struggles at No. 2.

That leaves the Arizona Cardinals as the last hurdle keeping Love from the Titans. He would be a major upgrade from James Conner and Trey Benson, but the Cardinals are also a candidate to go defense at No. 3.

Why wouldn’t the Titans go defense at No. 4 as well? Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are not only in the final years of their contracts, but Love is also a potentially generational player capable of changing a franchise with his playmaking ability in both the running and passing game.

Love wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to be picked as high as No. 4, but he’s hinted multiple times at his desire to play for the “best quarterback” and a place where his former running backs coach, Deland McCullough, coached and won a Super Bowl — the Kansas City Chiefs.

I think it’s safe to say Love won’t slip past the No. 9 spot in the draft, but if he does, it will be a colossal — or should I say titanic — mistake.
