No. 6: Dwayne Bowe - No. 23 (1st round) 2007 NFL Draft (Kansas City Chiefs)
Like Brian Thomas Jr., former NFL wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was selected with the No. 23 overall pick, but we are going all the way back to the 2027 NFL Draft where the LSU product was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Long before Patrick Mahomes was under center, Bowe was a part of a Chiefs team that was competitive in the AFC, but not really a team that was dominant. The 6-foot-3, 217-pound Bowe was solid at LSU ranking fourth at the time in career receptions, fifth in career receiving yards and was one of 7 players to reach the 2000-yard mark in receiving yards.
His solid LSU career did carry over to his NFL career. In 8 seasons with the Chiefs, Bowe had three 1,000-yard receiving seasons, including nearly breaking the mark in his rookie season. His best seasons came in 2010 and 2011 when he went for over 1100 yards receiving in each of those seasons. Most notably, Bowe had just one season in which he went for under 50 receptions and that was a season in which he played just 11 of the 16 games. Bowe did go on to play for the Cleveland Browns in 2015 before journeying out of the league.
Overall, a great career which could’ve been even better if he got to catch the ball from a quarterback like Mahomes.
