No. 8: Brandon LaFell – No. 78 overall (3rd round) 2010 NFL Draft (Carolina Panthers)

As a receiver with great size, but not considered a burner speed wise, LaFell had a consistent NFL career and was a Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots in 2014.  Selected with the No. 78 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, LaFell was a consistent receiver through his 9-year career.

In his first four years in Carolina, he totaled 2,385 receiving yards with 13 touchdowns.  That scored him a free agency signing with the Patriots where he went on to play with Tom Brady.  In those two seasons in New England, LaFell had his best career season in 2014 catching 74 passes for 953 yards.  He also scored a touchdown in the team’s Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks.  Following the 2015 season in New England, LaFell went on to play for the Cincinnati Bengals before finishing his career with the Oakland Raiders.

Although LaFell never hit stardom in the NFL, he was a solid receiver who made plays when needed.  Given his production at LSU, LaFell was consistent through his NFL career, averaging about 600 receiving yards a season.
