No. 9: D.J. Chark – No. 61 overall (2nd round) 2018 NFL Draft (Jacksonville Jaguars)

At No. 9 on this NFL all-time list is D.J. Chark.  Coming out of LSU with a round 2 draft projection in the 2018 NFL Draft, Chark did go in the second round to the Jacksonville Jaguars.  With his combination of size and speed, the LSU product showed flashes at LSU with his best season coming in 2017 in which he hauled in 40 receptions for 874 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Although he didn’t accomplish a 1,000-yard season at LSU, his explosiveness down the field made him a desirable selection for the Jaguars.  After a quiet rookie season, Chark did show off his WR2 capabilities with a Pro Bowl season in Year 2.  In that 2019 NFL season, Chark had his best season in the NFL with 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and 8 touchdowns.  After taking a slight step back in 2020 with 53 receptions for 706 yards, Chark has been a bit of a journey man with stops with the Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers and currently the Los Angeles Chargers.

Now in his seventh season in the NFL, Chark is proven to be a reliable veteran who adds wide receiver depth to any team he plays on.  Although not one of the top names you think of when it comes to LSU wide receivers, Chark has etched a pretty solid NFL career.
