Can the Tampa Bay Buccaneers find a way to limit the tight end dominance of Brock Bowers?

The Las Vegas Raiders rookie has entered the NFL as advertised putting together one of the best offensive rookie seasons in NFL history.  He’s so good that it will be tough for any defense to stop him from catching the ball.  The best approach is to limit what he does when he catches the ball.

Still a tough task for a Buccaneers team during a divisional race.  The good news for Tampa is that the Raiders are a team playing out the season.  That could turn out to be dangerous if they don’t find a way to contain Bowers early in this game.  Give a team like the Raiders hope they can win the game and they might just pull off the upset.

Will the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month continue his blazing start to his rookie season with a big game to go over 1,000 receiving yards?  What’s the bet?

Brock Bowers receiving yards prop over/under odds vs. Buccaneers

Brock Bowers odds for receiving yards in the Week 14 matchup over 74.5: +115 (Bet $10 to win $22.43).

Key factors:

  • The rookie tight end won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November with outstanding performances against the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs.  Both teams are better at defending the pass than the Buccaneers.
  • The Buccaneers’ defense is near last in the league in passing defense.  They are also a team struggling to finish plays and tackle.  If they continue to struggle in those areas, it could be a historic day for Bowers at Raymond James stadium.
  • While Bowers does have under 60 yards receiving in 3 of those last 5 games, when he gets over 10 receptions, it generally leads to a big day receiving for the outstanding rookie tight end.  It’s hard to see the Buccaneers limiting Bowers to under 10 receptions in this game.

Prediction:  Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers will outlast the Raiders in an offensive explosion down in Tampa.  Bowers will get his, but the Buccaneers win this one 34-27.  Bowers gets 11 catches and goes over 100 yards in this one. He will be just short of going over 1,000 yards but will go over 74.5 yards receiving easily.
