Browns find a QB as contenders address major needs
No. 17 Atlanta Falcons (2-2): Will Echoles, DL, Ole Miss
The Falcons are suddenly 2-2 with Michael Penix Jr. back. That solves their need at quarterback for now.
That leaves them in position to upgrade at other positions, like the defensive line.
With the 17th overall pick, the Falcons select Will Echoles, who gives them a force in the middle as an interior disruptor against the run and a player who can provide pressure up the middle.
No. 18 Denver Broncos (2-2): Sammy Brown, LB, Clemson
The Broncos will be tempted to go tight end here, but the greater need is at linebacker.
They select Clemson's Sammy Brown, a high-volume tackler who brings both speed and sideline-to-sideline range to the second level of the defense.
As an inside linebacker, Brown provides a high-motor presence who should help improve the run defense.
No. 19 Carolina Panthers (2-2): Will Heldt, EDGE, Clemson
The Panthers reach a little with the selection of Will Heldt with the No. 19 overall pick.
At 6-foot-6, 260 pounds, the emerging Clemson star might just be a mid-to-late first-round talent by the time the season is over.
As a prototypical defensive end, he gives the Panthers a younger pass rusher who is a physical and disciplined edge setter.
No. 20 New England Patriots (2-2): Trey'Dez Green, TE, LSU
Okay, Hunter Henry came to life a little bit in the Patriots' upset victory over the Buffalo Bills.
But this is an emerging top need for the Patriots, with Henry aging and 2026 third-round pick Eli Raridon showing early signs of having durability concerns.
Give Drake Maye a big, athletic target like Trey'Dez Green, and that area of need could be solved.
No. 21 Cleveland Browns (3-1) via Los Angeles Rams (2-2): Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss
The Browns are an interesting team to watch the rest of the season because of the play of Deshaun Watson and how the young talent on both sides of the ball continues to develop.
At 3-1 to start the season, the Browns may be playing themselves out of a top quarterback talent in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Well, not really.
If Trinidad Chambliss doesn't go in the top 10, there's a possibility he is a quarterback who slides later in the first round.

That lands him with a team like the Browns, which might be the perfect situation for an older quarterback prospect with the tools to make an immediate impact.
No. 22 Cleveland Browns (3-1): David Stone, DL, Oklahoma
Sticking with David Stone here with the Browns.
With Mason Graham making a Year 2 leap, putting Stone next to him makes the interior of the Browns' defensive line a force to be reckoned with.
No. 23 Las Vegas Raiders (3-1): KJ Duff, WR, Rutgers
With most of the Raiders' offensive production coming from the tight end position, finding a top-tier wide receiver is a major need.
Look no further than KJ Duff, who gives the Raiders that big boundary target with a tremendous catch radius.
Not only does Duff give Fernando Mendoza another playmaker, but he is also a contested-catch king.
Duff on the field with Brock Bowers presents defensive mismatches all over the field.
No. 24 Seattle Seahawks (3-1): Greg Johnson, IOL, Minnesota
The Seahawks stabilize the interior of their offensive line with the selection of Minnesota's Greg Johnson, who is emerging as the top guard in the draft.
At 6-foot-6, 327 pounds, Johnson brings positional versatility to the Seahawks' offensive line with his ability to play guard, center or tackle when needed.
In Seattle, he'll stabilize that right guard position.
