2027 NFL Mock Draft: Patriots give Drake Maye another weapon
No. 9 New Orleans Saints (1-2): Will Echoles, DL, Mississippi
The Saints losing Bryan Bresee to a season-ending ACL tear before the season even started shifted one of the team's biggest 2027 NFL Draft needs to the interior defensive line.
Ole Miss star Will Echoles doesn't just provide depth. He gives New Orleans young star potential at the position.
With his 6-foot-3, 310-pound frame and athleticism, Echoles provides an interior pass rush capable of keeping blockers on their heels.
No. 10 Washington Commanders (1-2): KJ Duff, WR, Rutgers
The Commanders make KJ Duff a top-10 pick.
This would've been considered a head-scratching selection before the season. While it still may be surprising, Duff's continued highlight catches and record-setting performances are quickly changing the conversation.
For a Commanders team looking for another star wide receiver, why not Duff?
No. 11 New York Jets (1-2): Ellis Robinson IV, CB, Georgia
The Jets address another major need just outside the top 10 with Ellis Robinson IV.
A team that didn't record an interception throughout the 2025 NFL season lands a player in Robinson who has the talent and potential to replace what the Jets once had in Sauce Gardner.
No. 12 Atlanta Falcons (1-2): Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas
With the jury still out on Michael Penix Jr., the Falcons make sure their quarterback has blindside protection with the selection of Texas standout Trevor Goosby.
As the top tackle off the board, Goosby gives Atlanta its eventual Jake Matthews successor.
No. 13 Arizona Cardinals (1-2): CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame
The Cardinals make CJ Carr the fourth quarterback selected in the first 13 picks.
Carr's pocket presence, accuracy and decision-making make this an interesting selection for Arizona.
If the Cardinals can start getting more out of Marvin Harrison Jr., they'll have an intriguing offense in place for a young quarterback like Carr and a head coach in Mike LaFleur who could put him in position to succeed.
It also sets up a quarterback competition between Carr and 2026 third-round pick Carson Beck.
No. 14 New England Patriots (1-2): Trey'Dez Green, TE, LSU
After falling to 1-2, the big question around Patriots Nation is whether the team has a Drake Maye problem or an offensive creativity problem.

With most eyes aimed toward Maye, the Patriots can't give up on a third-year quarterback coming off an MVP-caliber sophomore season.
The answer is adding more dynamic weapons.
With Hunter Henry aging, LSU tight end Trey'Dez Green gives Maye another big target he can trust while adding a different dimension to the Patriots' offense.
No. 15 Cleveland Browns (3-1) via Los Angeles Rams (1-2): Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State
The Browns are off to a 3-1 start following a Thursday night victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they've done so with surprisingly strong play from quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Despite his play, don't eliminate Cleveland from the quarterback market just yet.
A talented arm like Drew Mestemaker could make the Browns' offense even more intriguing in 2027. The bigger question surrounding the Oklahoma State quarterback is whether he'll be NFL-ready or stick around in school for another season.
No. 16 Cincinnati Bengals (2-1): KJ Bolden, S, Georgia
The Bengals were playing lights-out defense until their Week 3 loss to the Steelers, but they still need star power and stability in the secondary.
Georgia star KJ Bolden offers that potential at safety.
As a player who rarely gives up big plays, he could spend a year or two playing alongside veterans Bryan Cook and Jordan Battle before taking over as a starter.
