2027 NFL Mock Draft: Cowboys add offensive firepower as Chiefs land speedster

No. 25 Jacksonville Jaguars: KJ Bolden, S, Georgia

The Jaguars get star power at safety in KJ Bolden.

At 6-foot-0, 195 pounds, Bolden is your classic centerfielder, who is great in coverage and a reliable run stopper inside the box.

The selection of Bolden gives the Jaguars insurance at the position with Antonio Johnson in the final year of his four-year deal.

Even if they re-sign Johnson, the Jaguars secondary could use another young, aggressive safety who can make an impact all over the field.

No. 26 Tennessee Titans (via trade with Browns): Trevor Lauck, OT, Iowa

The Titans use the second first-round pick acquired in a deal with the Browns to select Iowa’s Trevor Lauck to take over at right tackle.

At 6-foot-6, 310 pounds, Lauck on the right side will give Cam Ward more time in the pocket.

He is also elite in the run game as a blocker, a downhill mauler who will bring physicality to the Titans' rushing attack.

No. 27 Dallas Cowboys (via Green Bay): Nick Marsh, WR, Indiana

The Cowboys don’t lock up George Pickens long-term and instead draft Nick Marsh with the No. 27 overall pick in the draft.

A big receiver who can stretch the field as a true X-receiver, Marsh would serve as a WR2 in Dallas, which will allow CeeDee Lamb to make more of an impact in the intermediate passing game.

No. 28 Chicago Bears: Xavier Gilliam, DL, Tennessee

Tennessee’s Xavier Gilliam lands with the Chicago Bears.

With his draft stock rising steadily given his week-to-week production, Gilliam being available at this point in the draft would be a value pick for the Bears.

A disruptive force in the middle, Gilliam is amid a breakout season with 23 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss and 5.0 sacks through the first seven games of the 2026 season.

No. 29 Buffalo Bills: Brauntae Johnson, S, Notre Dame

Bills fans will want to give Josh Allen more weapons, but the team has more pressing needs on defense.

With the addition of Notre Dame safety Brauntae Johnson, they get a player who is instinctive in making big plays in coverage and gets down in the box to make plays against the run.

He’ll serve as a big piece in Jim Leonhard’s defensive disguises.

No. 30 Minnesota Vikings: Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

Trinidad Chambliss is the wild card of the 2027 NFL Draft.

As a dual-threat quarterback who is undersized at the position, the Ole Miss star can go as high as the top 10 or be a high Day 2 pick.

He lands with the Vikings here, a team that is undefeated with a quarterback in Kyler Murray who has a similar size and skill set to Chambliss.

No. 31 Kansas City Chiefs: Ryan Coleman-Williams, WR, Alabama

Ryan Coleman-Williams got his mojo back and is looking like the wide receiver threat he was in his freshman season at Alabama.

The fact the Chiefs select him with the No. 31 overall pick seems unfair given the type of down-the-field option he gives Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, especially given the offensive success the head coach-QB duo had when Tyreek Hill was providing explosive plays downfield.

Yes, Coleman-Williams has that kind of elite speed.

No. 32 San Francisco 49ers: Carter Smith, OT, Indiana

The 49ers round out the first round with the selection of Carter Smith out of Indiana University.

Although projected as a high-end Day 2 pick, Smith has the football IQ, technique and strength to excel in Kyle Shanahan’s zone-heavy offensive attack.

He projects as a tackle at the next level but also has the versatility to shift inside to guard.

Can he be the Trent Williams succession plan?

Given his skill set and the type of offense Shanahan runs, the answer is an enthusiastic yes.
