The 2027 NFL Draft tight end class is quietly loaded

1. Jamari Johnson, Oregon
Jamari Johnson is the next tight end from Oregon that people are ready to see break out in 2026.
Listed at 6'5, 257 pounds, Johnson has more than the ideal size to play in-line for the heavier packages teams are looking for.
But he's also already shown the requisite ball skills and athleticism to be an effective pass catcher.
2. Trey'Dez Green, LSU
Trey'Dez Green is the latest "jumbo receiver" tight end archetype. He's viewed as a receiver-first player, but stands at a massive 6'7.
With new head coach Lane Kiffin coming to LSU, Green is expected to have a big season in 2026.
3. Terrance Carter, Texas Tech
Terrance Carter is a 6'2, 245 pound tight end from Texas Tech.
Carter was only on Todd McShay's mock this time around. McShay had this to say:
"Carter is highly regarded by NFL teams and is primed for a breakout season at Texas Tech."
