The best running back prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft

1. Ahmad Hardy, Missouri
Ahmad Hardy is the only running back to appear on two of the 2027 NFL Mock Drafts I looked at.
Hardy is regarded as a physical, downhill runner who led the FBS in yards after contact last year with 1,208.
Although Hardy was the only back to appear on multiple mocks, he was the second back taken in each of those mocks, interestingly enough, to the Baltimore Ravens both times.
2. Kewan Lacy, Ole Miss
Jordan Reid had Lacy in his mock draft as his first running back off the board. He had this to say about Lacy.
"He's a long-striding, slashing runner whose sudden movements give him the A-level short-area quickness to create explosive plays. His 24 rushing touchdowns last season were the third most in SEC history. His outstanding vision and awareness keeps runs on track and creates positive yardage. He's also a competitive pass protector."
3. Jadan Baugh, Florida
Dane Brugler's top running back at this point is Jadan Baugh out of Florida (to the Texans, where Reid sent Lacy.)
Brugler said, "The first running back off the board in this mock, Baugh brings size, strength and quickness to the position. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry last season and made his presence felt on third downs."
The best wide receiver prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft

1. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State
Jeremiah Smith will likely be the first non-quarterback taken in the 2027 class.
Smith is a physically dominant player out wide who excels in every facet of the position.
Even amid this quarterback cornucopia, Smith has no ceiling on how high he could go in this draft if it's the right situation.
2. Cam Coleman, Texas
Coleman is another super-talented receiver in this class. The 6'3 receiver is joining Manning at Texas for the 2026 season.
Many believe quarterback play at Auburn held him back the last two seasons, but the switch over to Texas will allow him to truly shine.
His spot in the mocks varied, but he was the second receiver off the board in all three drafts.
3. Ryan Coleman-Williams, Alabama
Despite going late in the first on all three mocks, Coleman-Williams was the only other consensus wide receiver among the analysts.
Coleman-Williams had an outstanding freshman year in 2024, but struggled in 2025. Going from 865 yards and eight touchdowns to 689 yards and four touchdowns.
But if he can keep the drops down and find more consistency in 2026, that explosive-play ability we saw two years ago could shine again en route to a high draft selection.
