These 5 teams need a quarterback in the 2027 NFL Draft
- New York Jets
- Cleveland Browns
- Atlanta Falcons
- Carolina Panthers
- Arizona Cardinals
The New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals both have a veteran quarterback on a one-year contract and a mid-round rookie on their depth chart. Both franchises are set up to draft a quarterback in 2027.
The Cleveland Browns are finally close to getting out of the Deshaun Watson contract. And, like the Jets, they have multiple first-round picks in the 2027 draft to try and get the quarterback they want.

The Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are the wild cards. Both have first-round picks at quarterback they hope will work out for them, but the evidence so far has shown it won't.
Despite some major improvements, Bryce Young hasn't shown he can quarterback a good offense in the NFL, and Michael Penix Jr. has not shown the ability to stay healthy. If both signal-callers get the chance to play the majority of the season, however, and play well, then a case can be made to move their teams out of this tier.
Now, let's play matchmaker.
