Jeremiyah Love will have NFL scouts’ attention when the No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish clash with the No. 16 Texas A&M Aggies in a Week 3 showdown inside Notre Dame stadium.

In one of the more intriguing matchups of the weekend, Love will look for a bounce back game to help get Notre Dame in the win column following a 27-24 loss in Week 1 at Miami.  In that game Love looked far from the top running back prospect in the nation, rushing for just 33 yards on 10 carries.  He also had 4 receptions in the game for 26 yards, but in all a quiet game.

Can Love return to the impactful player he was in 2024 in this battle with the Aggies?

Show Jeremiyah some love!

If Notre Dame is to bounce back and look like the team that battled Ohio State in the National championship game, they will need to lean on Love and the running game.  With his tough running style, exposing and dynamic ability catching the ball out of the backfield, the ball simply needs to be in his hands more in any way possible.

Love is not alone.  He will have fellow running back Jadarian Price sharing the rock.  After just 16 combined rushes vs Miami, the Fighting Irish duo need to get going early.

It all starts with Jeremiyah Love.

Stock up prediction:   In last year’s matchup against Texas A&M, the Fighting Irish rushed for 198 yards in a 23-13 prime time win.  That rushing attack was led by Love who ran for 91 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  That included a backbreaking 21-yard touchdown run to put Notre Dame up 20-13 with under 2 minutes to go.  Expect that same type of impact in this Week 3 matchup.

The Aggies will be locked in on stopping Love in this matchup, but the top running back prospect in the nation will have a strong bounce back performance with over 100 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns in this game to raise his 2026 NFL Draft stock and get Notre Dame in the win column.

NFL teams who should be watching with interest

Chicago Bears: The Bears are a team who should have their eye on Jeremiyah Love.  With Ben Johnson running the show, Chicago could be looking for their version of Jahmyr Gibbs.   Love is an explosive player with the ball in his hands and could help propel the Bears’ offense and give Caleb Williams another target in the passing game.

Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys got a big Week 1 performance from Javonte Williams, but he is only on a one-year deal and a temporary solution at running back for Dallas.   Love could give them that dynamic lead back they have been looking for since the days of prime Ezekiel Elliott. With two first round picks in 2026, the Cowboys will be in position to use one of the picks on a top running back prospect.

Minnesota Vikings: Another team in the NFC North who could have their eyes on selecting a running back in the 2026 NFL Draft are the Vikings. Minnesota is currently leaning on Aaron Jones Sr. and Jordan Mason.  Jones is getting up there in age, so the Vikings could look for a running back like Love to lineup behind J.J. McCarthy and add to the team’s balanced offensive attack.
