2026 NFL Mock Draft 6-10: Commanders draft a game-changer, Cardinals move on at quarterback

No. 6: Washington Commanders – Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio State
Following a down season, the Commanders are awarded with an opportunity to land a franchise caliber player to the defensive side of the football. With the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, they select Ohio State’s Arvell Reese who has the talent and upside to be the top player off the board. With great size and athleticism, the LB/Edge hybrid injects a huge spark into the Commanders’ defense with his high motor and ability to make plays all over the field.
No. 7: New York Jets – Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana
The Jets will be in for a tough decision with the No. 7 overall pick in the draft. With Heisman Trophy candidates Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore on the board, the Jets will be pressed to make the right decision at quarterback. They ultimately go with Mendoza as the QB most ready to step in and handle an NFL offense. His size (6-foot-5, 225 pounds), ball placement, accuracy in short-to-intermediate passes and overall IQ at the position will lean the Jets his way although Moore is the QB with the higher upside as far as overall talent.
No. 8: Arizona Cardinals – Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
The Jets decision leads to the Arizona Cardinals jumping on the opportunity to select Dante Moore. With the future of Kyler Murray with the team up in the air, the Cardinals will be scouting quarterback talent ahead of free agency. If Murray leaves or the team decides to move on from him, Moore is a “loaded toolbox” who can come in and manifest a similar skillset to the offense as Murray. His limited experience will be in question, but it will be hard for NFL teams in need of a quarterback to ignore his high-level arm talent.

No. 9: Los Angeles Rams via Atlanta – Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
The Rams use this pick from the Falcons to address cornerback. They select LSU’s Mansoor Delane with the No. 9 overall pick. Delane is a prototypical corner with great ball instincts and coverage technique. His competitiveness will fit right into the Rams’ defensive scheme and mindset as a unit. With another first round pick in this draft, the Rams can address the offensive line later in the round or on Day 2 of the draft.
No. 10: Cincinnati Bengals– David Bailey, ED, Texas Tech
The Bengals top need is to add playmakers and game changers to the defensive side of the ball. They do that with the selection of Texas Tech’s David Bailey who they can pair with 2025 NFL Draft first round pick Shemar Stewart. Even if they convince Trey Hendrickson to stick around, the talent and potential of Bailey and Stewart can help lead the Bengals defense into the future as a ferocious duo off the edge.
