No. 27: Washington Commanders – Tyreak Sapp, ED, Florida

The Commanders hope to improve on defense in 2025.  They will expand on that in 2026 with the selection of Florida’s Tyreak Sapp who gives them that pass rush production off the edge.  In 2024, he racked up 7 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.  A solid addition for the Commanders at this spot.

No. 28: Detroit Lions – LT Overton, ED, Alabama

Another Alabama defender goes off the board as LT Overton lands with the Detroit Lions.  Overton has defensive lineman versatility that will allow the Lions to use him off the edge or an interior lineman next to 2025 NFL Draft first-round pick Tyleik Williams.  The hope here is he forms a tenacious duo opposite Aidan Hutchinson coming off the edge.

No. 29: Kansas City Chiefs – Dani Dennis-Sutton, ED, Penn State

Back-to-back-back edge rushers go off the board late in the first round as the Chiefs select Dani Dennis-Sutton out of Penn State.  The Chiefs could go cornerback here, but a 6-foot-5, 265-pound athlete coming off the edge will be more appealing.  Dennis-Sutton will be a more intriguing fit given the sudden QB star power in the AFC West.

No. 30: Baltimore Ravens – Eli Stowers, TE, Vanderbilt

The Ravens get their Mark Andrews replacement at the end of the first round with the selectin of Vanderbilt’s Eli Stowers.  A bit of a surprise at this spot in the draft, but the 6-foot-4, 234-pound tight end gives LaMar Jackson another big target and a vertical threat who will make a great TE tandem with Isaiah Likely in 2026.

No. 31: Buffalo Bills – Mikail Kamara, ED, Indiana

The Bills go defense with the No. 31 overall pick in the draft.  In selecting Indiana’s Mikail Kamara, the Bills add another young edge to the mix.  Over the last two seasons with the Hoosiers, Kamara racked up a total of 17.5 sacks.  The Bills will love that production opposite Greg Rousseau.

No. 32: Philadelphia Eagles – KC Concepcion, WR Texas A&M

The Eagles will just restart the rumors of A.J. Brown moving on with this selection.  With the No. 32 overall pick, the Eagles go with KC Concepcion who is a savvy route runner who has an extreme ability after the catch to create yards.  He will end up being another one of those quality draft picks for the Eagles.
