Through Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season and the Indianapolis Colts are one of the teams at 2-0 behind the resurrection of Daniel Jones and the emergence of 2025 NFL Draft pick Tyler Warren. How will their hot start shake up the 2026 NFL Draft?
Another team with a surprising start are the Kansas City Chiefs who are 0-2 after back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. While no one expects Patrick Mahomes and company to stay at the bottom of the AFC, it does set up an interesting draft order based on current record.
As one team not in need of a QB, who would the the Chiefs take with a top 10 pick? Will the Colts still go after a quarterback if Jones continues to look solid? Assuming Arch Manning returns to Texas in 2026, which QB will go first off the board? Let's take a look at the best fits for NFL teams based oon current record through Week 2.
2026 NFL Mock Draft No. 1-5: Two of the top QBs land in the AFC East
Two of the elite 2026 NFL Draft QB prospects join Josh Allen and Drake Maye in the AFC East as one team lands the top prize and the other shocks the NFL with a surprising pick that shakes up the entire draft.
No. 1: New York Jets – Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU
The third time is the charm for the New York Jets. After failed experiments drafting Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson in the top 5 of the NFL Draft, the Jets finally get it right with the selection of Garrett Nussmeier with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

A quarterback with natural arm talent, Nussmeier is a franchise caliber quarterback who will ride into the NFL in the footsteps of Jayden Daniels who won the Heisman during his final season at LSU. Nussmeier isn’t the athlete Daniels is, but his ability to get the ball down the field while on the move will utilize the talent of Garrett Wilson. He also gets to reunite with tight end Mason Taylor.
No. 2: New Orleans Saints – LaNorris Sellers, QB South Carolina
The Saints are getting solid play out of second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler, but New Orleans won’t pass up the chance to take one of the quarterbacks in this draft. With the No. 2 overall pick, the Saints go with South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers, who when healthy, is one of the more impressive quarterbacks in this draft class.
Ironically, Sellers redshirted behind Rattler during his first season with the Gamecocks. In landing in New Orleans, the 6-foot-3, 240-pound QB will have a chance to either compete with Rattler or replace him with the Saints. With his dual-threat ability and arm talent, Sellers will bring excitement to Who Dat Nation.
No. 3: Miami Dolphins – Drew Allar, QB Penn State
The Dolphins will move on from Tua Tagovailoa and reset the roster with the selection of Drew Allar with the No. 3 overall pick. This will be a bit of a shocker, but if the Dolphins don’t turn around an 0-3 start, there will be rumblings around the team not only moving on from head coach Mike McDaniel, but Tua as well.
In Allar, the Dolphins get a quarterback with a stronger arm than Tua. His prototypical size at the position along with his mobility in the pocket makes him a fascinating addition for the Dolphins and perhaps the most talented quarterback to be drafted by the franchise since Dan Marino as far as his big arm
No. 4: Cleveland Browns– Cade Klubnik, QB, Clemson
The Browns use the first of their two picks in the first round on Clemson star Cade Klubnik who becomes the fourth straight quarterback off the board. This would signal the Browns moving on from Deshaun Watson and also either of the two quarterbacks they drafted in 2025.
Although Klubnik’s team is not off to a hot start and he has struggled himself early in the season, the talent of Klubnik will be tough to avoid as one of the top 5 quarterbacks off the board. The Browns may be settling here, but he’s a better option with a higher ceiling than either Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel.
No. 5: Tennessee Titans – T.J. Parker, ED, Clemson
The first non-quarterback off the board is T.J. Parker. The Clemson edge rusher is the top ranked edge defender entering the season and is a player who will give the Titans that pass rusher they are looking for. With Justin Simmons anchoring the middle, Parker will help that Titans’ front seven get even better.
