Cam Skattebo wasn't exactly "under the radar" coming into the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup against Texas, but following a performance for the ages in a (double overtime) losing effort, the Peach Bowl MVP has become one of the more intriguing prospects in an NFL Draft loaded with talent at the running back position.

With Arizona State down 24-8, Skattebo took over the game with plays in both the run and pass game, including a 42-yard touchdown pass of his own, to lead the Sun Devils all the way back and to a 31-24 lead in the first overtime.

All told, Skattebo finished the game with 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 30 carries, eight catches for 99 yards, 42 yards passing and a passing touchdown.

So, what's next for the early MVP of the college football postseason? His NFL Draft stock is, at the very least, polarizing, and he will most certainly be the center of attention when he takes the field at the Senior Bowl. Evaluators will also be anxiously awaiting his testing numbers at the NFL Combine. But the question there is—how much does that all matter?

A fast 40/shuttle time can only improve his value. He goes into the draft process with a substantial body of work, and the main question mark is, "How fast can he run?"

The whole world saw what Skattebo could do Wednesday on the biggest stage, but he's far from a one-hit wonder. He set the Arizona State single-season rushing record with 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns on 293 carries, an average of 5.8 yards per carry. He helped the Sun Devils to a Big 12 Championship victory with an incredible 170 yards on just 16 carries - 10.6 yards per carry - and two touchdowns on that stage. Skattebo concluded his senior season with eight 100+-yard rushing games, including a career-high 262 yards against Mississippi State.

More on Cam Skattebo at NFL Mocks:

Over Skattebo's four-year collegiate career, which included two years at FCS Sacramento State before two years at Arizona State, he averaged 6.2 yards per carry. His final tallies are 4,386 yards rushing and 43 touchdowns, with 1,386 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. And while he's not a prospect to be QB1 of this draft, he did have 191 yards passing and three touchdowns (just sayin'.)

Who is Skattebo's NFL comp? In his own words, he said, "I like to say myself." And truer words have never been spoken. In my 30+ years of watching football (plus NFL Films), I've never seen a back exactly like Skattebo.

He later added that he has been influenced by the likes of Christian McCaffrey, Marshawn Lynch, Mark Ingram and Le'Veon Bell, and you can see that. I see a blend of McCaffrey, Mike Alstott and Jerome Bettis. The man is not easy to tackle, to say the least. And once he gets a full head of steam, good luck catching him/bringing him down.

One lucky NFL team is going to catch him this upcoming April, and whether that be in the first or the fourth round, Skattebo will become a fan favorite for his new team.
