With the 2025 NFL Draft season in full swing, this week marked the beginning of college Pro Days—giving overlooked prospects a chance to showcase their athleticism and skill in front of scouts. Several players took full advantage of the opportunity, and these five, in particular, stood out with strong performances.

Pro Day standouts

Shaun Dolac, MLB, Buffalo

Buffalo linebacker Shaun Dolac made a strong case for himself as one of the most overlooked prospects in this year’s draft cycle. Despite leading the nation with 168 tackles and all linebackers with 18.5 tackles for loss—while also recording five interceptions—he was left off the invite list for the NFL Combine. The main concern surrounding Dolac was his perceived athleticism, but he put those doubts to rest at Buffalo’s Pro Day. He ran a 4.55-second 40-yard dash, which would have ranked fifth among linebackers at the Combine, while also posting a 35.5-inch vertical jump and completing 25 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. His impressive performance has significantly boosted his draft stock.

Jamon Dumas-Johnson, MLB, Kentucky

Kentucky linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson made the most of his opportunity at Georgia’s Pro Day after being unable to participate in the NFL Combine. He posted impressive numbers, including a 4.55-second 40-yard dash and a 37.5-inch vertical jump, while also looking sharp in positional drills, according to Tony Pauline. As a prospect, Dumas-Johnson has proven himself as a capable pass rusher, recording 13 sacks during his college career, which included time at both Georgia and Kentucky. His strong showing could be enough to hear his name called late in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Dan Jackson, S, Georgia

Georgia safety Dan Jackson is another overlooked prospect who made the most of his Pro Day after not receiving a Combine invite. His 4.44-second 40-yard dash and 10-foot-3 broad jump highlighted his athleticism, complementing a strong showing at the Senior Bowl. With teams like the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins expressing interest, Jackson has positioned himself as a potential seventh-round pick this April.

Benjamin Yurosek, TE, Georgia

Another Bulldog who turned heads at Georgia’s Pro Day was tight end Benjamin Yurosek, who clocked a 4.64-second 40-yard dash and showcased impressive speed and quickness. A former member of NFL Mocks’ 2023 All-Underrated Preseason Team, Yurosek was highly productive early in his college career, recording 91 receptions across the 2021 and 2022 seasons. However, his production dipped over the past two years, with just 31 catches. Despite this, his speed, reliable hands—only six career drops, per Pro Football Focus—and ability to create separation with crisp route-running make him an intriguing prospect. While he may not hear his name called on draft day, Yurosek has the tools to earn a long look in an NFL training camp.

Nate Carter, RB, Michigan State

Michigan State running back Nate Carter may not have posted big numbers during his college career, but he turned heads at his Pro Day with an elite athletic performance. Carter’s standout moment was his blazing 4.37-second 40-yard dash, complemented by a 40-inch vertical jump and 23 reps on the bench press. Despite never rushing for more than 800 yards in a season, his strong testing numbers should be enough to earn him an opportunity in an NFL training camp.
