2024 NFL Draft top wide receiver prospects: Xavier Worthy – Texas

Xavier Worthy, a wide receiver from Texas, is known for his lightning speed and ability to create plays after the catch. Despite a relatively down year in 2023, where his receiving grade dropped to 61.8 from 77.9 in his freshman year, Worthy remains a top prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft.

In the 2023 season, Worthy has recorded 19 receptions for 252 receiving yards and three total touchdowns. His speed and quickness make him a threat on every play, and his ability to create yards after the catch is second to none. However, Worthy needs to address his drop issues and put on some weight to his 6-foot-1, 164-pound frame to ensure his success at the next level.

Last week, the No.3 ranked Longhorns got off a bug early lead and ran out the clock most of the second half. Worthy’s stat line shows this with just 31 yards in three catches, but his TD was beautifully executed and proved to lock down the game. He will get more targets this week as Texas will have their hands full with No. 24 and undefeated Kansas Jayhawks.

With two high-scoring offenses, it would not be surprising to see the game total in the 80s for this one. Bold predictions, Worthy gets targeted early and capitalizes, earning Quinn Ewer’s trust in the game. The two will connect frequently, and Worthy will walk out of there with a dozen catches and a pair of TDs, rocketing him up the draft boards.
